Successful single stage management of trifocal femoral fracture associated with distal medial condyle and Hoffa’s component by a novel technique

چکیده
<p>Isolated fractures of the shaft femur are relatively common injuries. Ipsilateral multifocal less with an additional proximal femoral fracture estimated to occur in up 5% diaphyseal and distal occurring 3-4%. Trifocal consisting ipsilateral proximal, diaphyseal, extremely rare. These patterns seen young adult population following high velocity trauma such as fall from height road traffic accidents. Lateral condyle fracture with concomitant postero-medial elbow dislocation in a child: a case report
Simultaneous combination of fracture of the lateral condyle and postero-medial elbow dislocation is a rare event and limited to few reports or case series in the literature. Rarity of the injury also necessitates judicious diagnosis and appropriate management to ensure optimal functional outcome. Various authors have reported about the condition including the management which mostly includes su...
متن کاملBilateral discoid medial meniscus associated with meniscal tears and hypoplasia of the medial femoral condyle
RATIONALE Bilateral discoid medial menisci is an extremely rare abnormality of the knee joint. The presence of a discoid medial meniscus has been associated with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and radiographic changes in the tibial region, such as cupping of the medial tibial plateau and tibial physis collapse. While discoid medial meniscal tears with hypoplasia of the femoral medial condyles...
متن کاملA Case of Distal Femur Medial Condyle Hoffa Type II(C) Fracture Treated with Headless Screws
Coronal plane fractures of the distal femur are less frequent compared to sagittal plane fractures. They were described by Hoffa in 1904 and are known as Hoffa fractures (AO type B3). They are isolated fractures of the femoral condyle and rare in occurrence. The objective in the treatment of these fractures is to achieve anatomical reduction of the articular surface and a stable fixation to pre...
متن کاملStress Fracture of the Lateral Femoral Condyle afterTotal Knee Arthroplasty
Background: This is to assess one of the rare complications after total knee replacement and to assess risk factors of failure. Methods: 11 patients with varus knee and an average age of 67 years underwent TKA between 2005 and 2013. All patients returned with a sudden sharp knee pain, disability to walk and significant decrease in ROM about 4 to 8 weeks after surgery. Radiographic examination re...
